So i have a modded PS2. It has a neo4 modchip in it.
I have the .ISO for two different PS2 games (Guitar Hero 3 and Street Fighter Alpha).
I found instructions online and burned these .iso to their own disks but ran into a problem.
I burned it on DVD decryptor as a image.
When i went to do the DVD Single Swap, since that is what needs to be done with this modchip, all i got was a black screen.
I put in the burned disc after swapping it and all i got was black screen and no game started.
Does anyone have suggestions on why this might be happening?
Any other files i need to burn with the .iso?
this is frustrating, ANYONE?

Is the GH3 and Street Fighter Alpha the same region as your PS2?
If yes maybe you need to try the swap with another disk.

what do you mean is it the same region?
And as far as the disk, i used DVD-R disks for the burned and GTA Vice City/3 for the original boot disk.

for the region i do believe he is talking about the encoding of the game files. The US uses the NTSC encoding while europe uses a Pal encoding so if the games that dont work are a Pal encoding and you live in the US then you would need a different copy of game files

Yes that is what I (She) means. If your PS2 is NTSC, then is the game NTSC or if your PS2 is PAL, then is the game PAL.
The way to tell is explore the ISO or disk:
SLUS, SCUS = USA
SLES, SCES = PAL
The original game you swap with has to be larger or same size as the backup game.

thanks! i just realized that the Guitar Hero 3 ISO was PAL, not sure about the street fighter one tho, it was just the ISO, no other files. Ill figure out if my console is NTSC or PAL, and hopefully its NTSC, so it all works. It it is and i get an NTSC iso, i just need to burn the ISO as a disk image and go?

Check your PS2 version here.
http://www.mod-chip.com/en/ps2version.htm
What disk are you using to swap with. It has to be a larger size than the backups.
You can use IsoBuster 2.0 to view your ISO to see the SLUS or SLES file.

Ive tried with both PAL and NTSC DVD games and used a large boot up game and i still receive the black screen after i do the swap. The game is not being read. Does anyone have a clue what could be wrong?

The new ESR Beta 9 will play Street Fighter Alpha Anthology.
Or you have probably heard already, but in case you haven't.
Are you able to load elf files, then you could disable the chip and play any backup patched with the memento disc patcher.
You could also install free_mcboot 1.5 to a memory card, then transfer ESR beta 9 to the memory card also
There would be no more disc swapping.
Just go here for help and tutorials.

hi i think the modchip you are using doesn't support dvd-r
what you can do is go get some dvd+r media...
before buring any disc set your recording type to dvd-rom for dvd+r media..
it's works for me and it cause less stress for you lens

What type of modchip do you have?
And you should burn at faster speed.
Try 4x or higher.

bro, just fondle with the setting with your tv and you should have display for the game.and btw don't go editing the original pal game iso unless the game is a dual layer disc.as i know all current modchip for the ps2 is region free...so just burn at 8x speed and do the bit setting for the disc to dvd-rom.piece of advice here, use dvd+r media...it's better for the ps2...

Did you guys get what he said?
Both his PS2 and TV are PAL, but he can't play PAL games.
His modchip plays NTSC fine, and all originals.
