okay my friend is selling me his xbox 360 with rrod. but the thing is. he had a rrod before and when i was at his house, he tried to fix it using the penny fix and it worked. now he has rrod. do you guys know what the problem is??

best chance in revival is the xclamp mod. go HERE for guides and a list of parts needed.

Oh yeah.

And I always try to mention this, but find out what the error code is first. Most don't bother. An issue with the ram (for instance) obviously can't be fixed via x clamps.

yea um im getting the xbox in tomorrow so i'll tell you guys the error code... how do i find out the error code??

it will be on the screen of your tv when you boot it up. at least thats where should be at.

I just got a blank screen with my rrods. No error code.

someone will post it i dont have the link but i believe you hold in the button on the box to find your remote, then its like diganosing a car, the light will blick so many times for each different code. there are quite a few codes it could be. i think there is like 35 different things that could be wrong, and some have still yet to be discovered.

yea im getting the 360 tomorrow but anyways. my old one, i have another 360 that i had for a while and the problem is 0030 (temperature control) how do i fix that??

While keeping the "Connect" button held in the whole time, you press the eject button. Each time you press it, it will give you one number of the code.

i know. now how do i fix it?? it had the code 0030

i doubt you can fix it. no one has found a fix for the temperature control.

okay i got the xbox. apparantly it's not the rrod. this is what happens.

i press the power button, it turns on with the overheating and it like blinks and keeps on blinking... then the fan turns on reallly loud at like loudest blast.... then turns off. the 2 lights keep on blinking... is there a way to fix it??

yeah that's basically same thing as RROD. RROD is when it overheat so much it damaged some of the solder points on the chip. The way to fix it IS to do the x-clamp. MAKE SURE you put tiny amount of thermal paste.
