So after numerious attempts to get this thing to work using X-clamp and redoing it getting errors 0021 and 0022 I finally discovered that there are 4 little resistor that have been melted/broken off I think they are called anyways.

Here is a Picture that I borrowed from http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/repair/rin...x-clamp_fix.htm

I just drew in the circles

So, is this reparable? Just get some new ones and solder in or is this board toast?

I had the same thing happen to me and i lost the micro transitor that fell off the board. I ended up putting it back together and it worked the first time i turned it on, and then rrod the second time, and worked 3rd time i turned it on. I don't know if 1 broken micro transistor would cause the rrod. I talked to that place on ebay that does these repairs. They say it's not normal solder and that this happens quite frequently. They don't like messing around with a open, modified xbox.

Your choices are
1. sell it on ebay
2. put it all back together and send it back to microsoft with a new seal intact
3. try to find a place that will repair it for a decent price.
4. junk the board and buy a different 360.

I ended up returning mine back to microsoft. I had absolutely no problems and i sold the refurbished xbox to a friend for cheap.

Ok well a couple of questions,

1. My xbox drive has been flashed will that make a difference in returning it?

2. My seal is not instact, I dont have a spare

3. I did the X-Clamp fix from here

http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/repair/rin...x-clamp_fix.htm

which required me to drill the box.

So I dont think I could send it to microsoft.

Anyone know of any cheap mobos for this I could just switch out?

Link would be great.

It has Samsung DvD with MS/28 Frimware (date on back is June 6, 2006)

Thanks

Flashed drive doesn't make a difference, I doubt they check it, but I would flash it back to original if I could, but no big deal.

Must have sticker must have it. Look on ebay for a new one for $30.

Shouldn't have followed that stupid tut from Llama, that's the only tut that makes one drill in chasis, WTH, you can do the whole thing without drilling if you buy the right screw in first place. Good thing it was just to enlarge holes that were already there, so MS won't notice.

So yeah, just buy a sticker and send it.

Because they rip off the faceplate to see a sticker, then ship you a refurb and repair later?

You think they actually repair YOUR xbox and send it back to you in a week? If they did, then how much labor will they need to repair every single xbox right away that comes in? THINK!

Well, I'm not the one that's doing the repairs, call them and find out.
