I have vista utlimate installed at the moment but I want to get back to Xp HOme. I've looked at many other forums but they couldn't help me. I know that you have to look if you have a sata hd. But I have a wierd problem when i put my xp home recovery disc in my pc and start to install I'm getting an error that says that he can't find P:/ . But I don't have a hd or something like that in P:/. So my recovery cd from Vision were useless. After that i downloaded the xp home cd in iso file and unpacked it and putted it on a cd. The Cd works as it should work but not when I put in my computer and restart it. The xp home cd doesn't boot. What should I do to get back to Xp home ?

you need to ultimatley wipe out your entire hard drive and do a fresh install of xp. Thats what i did. I made a WindowsXP OS image and burned it to dvd. I booted ma machine and it went straight to windows xp install. i clicked format drives and then installed.

WARNING: If your machine was made specifically for Vista then you will probably loose drivers on this install. I lost sound, ethernet, wireless and graphics. However with a little research i managed to get all the drivers back.

You are not supposed to unpack the ISO file. You are suppose to burn it directly to a dvd. If you are certain that it works then you probably have to go itno your BIOS and change the locations of where your machine boots from.
