PSP Handle... Killzone Liberation Problem

Right, so my friend has a British PSP and a British version of Killzone Liberation. Whenever he tries to play Killzone online (infrastructure), the game asks him for a handle and a password. We assumed the handle was like a Username, so we tried using his internet Killzone account, but it doesn't work.
