Lately when I have been burning with Image Burn I receive multiple miscompare errors throughout the verify process. I have been using AnyDVD with DVD Shrink to create an ISO and then burning with ImgBurn. I have used the process with complete success mulptiple times in the past so I am not sure what the problem is. My biggest question is , and forgive my ignorance, if I have created an image file and then burn that file, unless something is wrong with the burning software, shouldn't they compare favorably? Even if the original image is faulty it should still burn an exact replica and therefore compare?

How about posting your burn log so we can take a look.
There could be a number of reasons.

I think this is it, I gave up before getting through the entire disk but I think there is enough here for the general idea. Thanks for the quick response. One other thing is that I have been getting intermitent Bad_Pool_Caller blue screens but I dont know if it has anything to do with this, but I wanted to give you that info in case.
Also I disable AnyDVD during the burn process like it says to do.

Your media is crap. Runit through Nero CD/DVD speed. It most likely has read errors.
You need good quality media like Taiyo Yuden.

I know it has problems after playing it through my stand alone player, and noticing all of the annoying little freeze-ups or what have you. The discs are HP dvd-r. I at least figured they were good enough to finish off the spindle, I never had any problems like this until recently which was what had me flustered. If you guys think that it is the media I will make it a point to get some new because you sure know alot more about it than I. Thanks.

OK so I finally got some new media in a made my first burn using Taiyo Yuden media. Same results as before. I will post the ImgBurn log but it finally got so bad during verifying that I had to stop it early. Also performed same test with DVDInfoPro and received similar results. Process was I ripped with DVDFab to HDD, Fix VTS, ran through Shrink to convert to ISO and then burnt with ImgBurn.

Try giving your laser lens a really good cleaning. Run the lens cleaner a few times and then try again at 6X. Check that no other DVD software is running in the background. It might be time for a new drive.
This can also happen if you have bad ram.

I will try cleaning my lens but I sure hope that it is not my drive, its a Plextor less that 6 months old. I think that you might be on to something with the RAM, I have run the diagnostic tests (2 different programs) and they showed no errors,but I still think that I am having some compatibility issues between two different sizes and makes of RAM. I am searching for a forum where I can discuss these things about my memory. Thanks for the response.
