Hey guys, I bought a DVD Recorder online and didn't realize it only had the red, white, and yellow component input slots. I have the DirecTV HD DVR and so when I would connect it to the dvd recorder's red, white, and yellow, it wouldn't work. Is it possible to DVD record something off the DVR? Thanks for any help.

Component Connections for Video are RED - BLUE - GREEN and are usually inline. Don't confuse the Red Video and Red Audio

The WHITE and RED are Audo connections

It sounds as you are trying to connect a component to a composite which is
    Video - Yellow
    Audio - Red and White

Some if not all programs are flaged to pevent a copy from the DVR

Thanks man for the help, but no dude, I know what color cables the red, blue, green and the red, white, and yellow do. My HD cables from the receiver (all 6) only has a place for the red, white, and yellow ones (only inputs on the DVD recorder), so it's like, what the heck do you do to make this work?? I connected, red, white, and yellow to my DVD from the receiver, but doesn't work. Say other places that the S video cable might work doing it this way. Anyone tried that? I know I won't get HD of course, just want to DVD record SD.
