Recently had to wipe hardrive and reinstall Windows XP Professional. On reloading Office 10 2003 Word gives problems on opening. A Microsoft report error mssg. appears. I opt not to send and a messg. appears saying Word encountered problems opening and offers the option of opening in safe mode or to continue as normal, if I try to open as normal the process repeats itself, so I end up having to use Safe Mode. I have tried System Restore, going back to the first loading of Office 10, but this did not resolve the prob. I would be grateful for any suggestions, as I would prefer not to have to reload Windows XP
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Office again? If that fails, then I think your only other option would be a full reload of Windows again as these problems can be very tricky to locate.
Thanks for reply Wally. Yeah, I have tried uninstalling it but to no avail. I thought I might end up having to reload Windows. I was hoping to avoid that course of action as Office Works was one of the last programs I loaded, so I went the whole rigmarole of updates and loading all the rest of the stuff before the problem arose. The difficulty may have occurred when I was loading an older version of Office Works Designed for Windows 95 which has a program Schedule which I need. Thanks again for taking the trouble.
