    Hi,
I have a Via VT6421 Sata PCMIA adapter and I want to install the Samsung SH-D163B Sata DVD Drive onto my laptop.

Would I have to power this drive externally? If yes, where can I get such an adapter?

    Thanks

if that is a standard desktop drive then you'll need a 5.25" drive enclosure that plugs into the wall receptecle for power.
