I've just bought a DS207+ and 2 x Hitachi 750 GB (HDS721075KLA330). When trying to install the harddrives in RAID1 (or RAID0) the diskstation crashes when it reaches about 20% completion. No compatibility or what? Dropping the RAID 0/1 installation and just running a basic installation on each harddrive seems to work. At least for a while, my DS shuts down after some time - the log doesn't tell me why. Each time I have to go an turn it on manually. Harddrive temp around 48C. Just tried to turn off the harddrive "sleep-function", doesn't help....it still crashes after some time. The harddrive temp reaches 52 C. So no doubt that heat is the problem....any advise?
