I have a rather unusual need that I am trying to figure out how to accomplish. I need to be able to trigger a mouse click or a key combination on my laptop computer from my desktop computer. I am using a special program on the desktop computer that requires me to click the mouse/touchpad buttons on the laptop, but I cannot hit the required keys or the mouse button because of a disability. I have special hardware and software that allows me to do this, but it is installed separately on both computers, so I cannot use the mouse and keyboard functions on the desktop and the laptop at the same time. It's either one or the other. I have a Rube Goldberg-like solution that might work but I was wondering if there was something easier. My idea was to use a USB missile launcher toy that can be pointed in different directions and is controlled by an accompanying software program. I could make the missile launcher hit the button on the mouse on my laptop. This is really a complicated solution, and I don't like the idea of wasting money on a silly toy to accomplish one little task, so I was wondering if anyone knows of a better solution.

You can try using software on your computer to remotely control your laptop (RealVNC - link here).
