Whenever I play videos in Windows Media Player, the video is very laggy UNTIL I go to Fullscreen mode. After that, it's just fine. Could it be my video card, or is it a software problem?

Tough to say. Are the videos on your hard drive or DVD? Are they commercial movies, or ones that you burned?

The videos are on my hard drive. They are divx videos and they are not commmercial. It's weird because when I disable de-interlacing from the divx decoder configuraion utility, the problem is fixed.

I think it just might be strain on the video card. Currently, I have a geforce 6200 installed. But I don't understand how going fullscreen would fix anything.

Use task manager to check the cpu usage during the time of the problem.
IS WMP using all the cpu ? Anything else ?

Not even close. Under "CPU" column, it says "02"
I pretty sure it's the video card now. I'm using aero in vista, so it would explain how going fullscreen would fix it because aero is no longer on the screen.

You could be on to something. Have you disabled aero and seen the result? How about an updated video driver?

lol Yeah, I disabled aero....and it works perfectly! Looks like I just have to wait for my new video card to arrive. Never really thought of disabling aero to see what happens. Thanks for the help!!!
