This is a strange one but Ive been doing some searching and have come up with nothing.

Does anyone know of a way to burn a DVD and no matter how much data I burn it will fill in all the empty space. The reason why I would want to do this is because when selling a DVD it looks ugly to see the burn line going around the middle, if its at the very edge, you dont notice it. I thought about making some sort of file that would fill the space, but that way seems a little lame and I was hoping there was some other way out there to do this.

Thanks!

Depending on your burning software there may be a finalize burn option. Nero has it. Why would you want to do this anyway? Also you could just create a text file with a bunch of random jargon as big as the free space on your dvd and just drop it on there than set it as hidden. =/.

I wish I could have an Avatar. =(.

I just think it looks tacky to have the visible burn line on the back, it looks a little more professional not to have that.

The blank file idea sounds like something Ill have to do. I did some looking and found this. If you put this in a command prompt:

fsutil file createnew FileName Size

it will create a blank file with the size you tell it, pretty neat.

just wondering what kind of dvd"s do you sell? also 90% of the people who buy a burnt dvd no matter what it is don't look at the burn lines, they just want to make sure that they get what they are paying for!

In Nero you can also try the RECORD DIRECTLY TO DISK FEATURE. First pick your project, then pick your dvd-video you want to record, after you hit next 3x you can pick to record to image file or directly to your burner. However with the image file you can edit it later or change encoding just incase the movie should prove to be ( supposedly ) to large for your disk. For instance I tried this method with I beleive it was Hancock and it said too large for disk, so you might have to go back later and encode it as an mp4,mp3,avi......excetra,excetra. Hope this helps cuz personaly trying to take up space with a blank file or other such nonsence to me is worse then the line in the center. Another thing you could do is just increase the cost of the disk and put another movie or two on it, have them pay by the movie, that way they get what they pay for, if their cheap then theres the line but if not then none, but thats just me. However make sure your clients dvd player can play dvds with multi movies on it, some wont.......
