Hi First time i've posted in this forum so hoping that someone can help me out... A colleague at work has just returned from a 6 month secondment and cannot remember the password for his home PC. He is running Windows XP service pack 2. There is only one account on the PC, so he cannot access the PC at all at the moment. Is there anyway to recover the password or get into the system any other way? He has quite a lot of files on the PC that he would rather not delete, so if there is anyway to do this without formatting and reinstalling the OS that would be great. Thanks in advance. ibizaGTi
check this link out & edit your sig to conform to forum specs ASAP. yours is 57,715 bytes. 2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall. http://www.loginrecovery.com/
Thanks for the reply's, i'll pass the info on tomorrow! Thanks for the heads up DDP, i have removed the sig until i get chance to resize it. I didn't realize it was above 50kb, on my PC it shows as 45.8 kb! Thanks again. ibizaGTi
If the "safemode password reset" doesn't work, you can use the free "boot cd" to reset your password. I've used it a couple of times on windows xp, and it works excellent everytime. It looks hard to use, but as long as you use the default settings, it will work. http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/
Go to http://trinityhome.org/Home/index.php?wpid=108&front_id=12 and download the iso and burn it to disk when it pops up with a command prompt type then it will say something just press one and it will pop up with a list of options number 4 should say if it says its locked press 4 to unlock it then press 1 to remove the password then press q to quit and then type reboot in the command prompt and now the password should be gone also you can type AND press 1 when asked and then choose 1 again and then reboot and the password should be gone hope this is of some help ( YOU can remove the passwords from any account just use the winpass -u ACCOUNT USER NAME command ;-)
