Hi, For my first newb post, I am going to ask a simple question: I have a television with the red and white audio out ports, and a stereo minisystem which has the red and white audio in. I had previously hooked up a "Hi-Fi link" between my PC and stereo. I can hear any movies played through my computer, and would like to hear the same sounds from my television, to add more silver screen-type sounds. The stereo is Aiwa CX-NA707 model, and has the video already attached to the "Hi-fi link." I just want to know if there is a way to split that, or if I could just hook the "Minidisc" audio in ports to the TV. Also, I want to know if gold-plated cables would produce significantly better audio.
You can split line level without any problems. That would be your easiest (and cheapest) way to do it. Your gold cables are better, but I don't think you could "hear" a difference of other basic cables of good quality.
