ok i just bought a 1TB extrenal hard drive. It is a western digital my book essential. when i recived it it is formated as fat....and i want to get it to ntfs..how do i reformat a external hard drive ? the exteranl hard drive did nto come with any cd or dvd ..it can with acouple programes but for what i looked into them there is no options within thoes programes to reformat the hard drive.. thanks for the help in advance
Start-> Run -> diskmgmt.msc Right click on the Drive that's your external, 'delete partition' then format it again using NTFS (Quick).
