I have a computer with vga output, and a tv that takes in hdmi, composite, and component. I was thinking maybe a VGA to DVI, then a DVI to HDMI. Does that work? If not what is the best method to hook my tv up to view my computer? Help is greatly appreciated.

howdy,
you can buy vga to component leads. I'd go with that as my first option.
Very surprised you dont have VGA or DVI anywhere on your set....
good luck.
P.S for optimum viewing, find out the native resolution of your TV and set your computer to output at that resolution in your settings.

Those VGA to component leads are not designed for the conventional use you're thinking of. They are mainly design for projectors, but if your graphics card can support that kind of color output then it would be okay. But I know some of the ATI radeon cards can support it with an adapter tho.

why do you think that might be? If you have the correct connections available it will work. We use them in both applications at work....
Maybe you had some other unrealated trouble before trying to use this method?
goodswipe
