Burning DVDs

I am new to a mac and have burned many DVDs on a PC. I have Toast 9 and MTR 2.6.6. I have burned about two movies on the mac but now I can't get any to burn at all. I keep getting a message that there are bad sectors and I have selected Pad VOBs and Delete VOBs on different rips. Then I get the message that the DVD might not burn. When I open Toast and select the files to burn Toast displays a message that it is not a valid Video_TS file. I notice that the files have no Audio_TS files with them. I have ripped the DVDs as movie only, Chapter, and cell with the same results. I have even tried the newest version of MTR and it shutsdown during the rip. Okay, what am I doing wrong????
