Hi,

I have a PSP Slim with OFW 4.01 and have vertical lines on the XMB and when playing games and movies. I know its not the lcd since I exchanged it for another one that works fine and it also displays the vertical lines...
Any help will be appreciated.

how very odd. iv never see this problem before. i just guessing but it looks to me if theres a problem with the screen refresh rate though its LCD i dont know if that applies.

best thing to do is to send it back to sony because you have a slim it should still be in the 1 year warranty but they dont cover the screen 100% also if the void sticker is gone then they'll charge you

id say it would be best to seen the psp off (cost about £60 if not a bit cheaper) and you'll be a refurbished one

the cost of a new mod is around £70 and for a slim that may be more as the mod is basicly the heart of the psp and the ram cpu flash0 flash1 all that is on the mod and that makes it expensive

The LCD inverter is bad. I don't know where that is on the PSP though. Try this, Turn it on and wiggle the cable for the LCD screen and see if the lines go away. If not wherever the PSP screen plugs into is bad, I'm guessing the motherboard, I don't think it has a seperate display board.
