How do I connect my Mitsubishi WS-55805 to a PS3 in 1080i?

The tv is ten years old and 1080i capable, however we've never had anything connected to the tv that is HD. So in order to connect my PS3 to my tv to watch blu-ray movies do I need some sort of converter? I do have a HDMI cable since I forgot how old the tv was and purchased one anyways. thanks

I do believe your tv has a DVI input - if so, purchase a HDMI to DVI cable.

Looks like I was wrong, no dvi from what I can see. I found the manual finally it looks like to supports RCA RGB Connections. Let me see if I can upload an image from the manual on photobucket to make things easier. Here it is:
