I am looking for a way to initiate a key combination with the push of a single button, and I'm thinking of using a gamepad to accomplish this. I am thinking about using the Saitek P2600 gamepad to accomplish this. My question is, if I can configure one of the programmable buttons to execute a key combination, does this apply to Windows XP globally or does it only work with actual games running?

As far as I know I think you can use Xpadder to do this. I know it works for games that don't support gamepads, but i don't se why it wouldnt work for the os itself. Give it a try and let me know if it works!
