Please help, I want to know if it is possible to add subtitles to a movie that is already burned on a DVD. Please tell me a program with which I can burn my subtitles afterward. THANKS 4 THE HELP!
You can rip the DVD to the hard drive, add subtitles, then burn a new DVD. I don't know of any 'one click' tool which does this - but it can be done using free tools. The whole process looks scary, but it's all simple steps. If the DVD is a commercial movie DVD, then either the ripped files have to be shrinked to fit a standard DVD then burned (or the you can burn the files to a DL disk). If you don't mind losing the menu from your movie, then the steps are relatively simple. If you have a menu, extras, trailers, that you want to keep on the new disk - there are more steps to be taken. In general, the steps are: Rip the existing DVD. Decide which features you wish to keep and shrink the files. Convert your new subtitles to a format that allows them to be added to the new disk (typically converting .srt to .sup). If you do not require a menu or any extras like trailers, do this: Demux the ripped files to separate video, audio, subtitles. Mux the the new compilation using the video, audio and all the required subtitles. Burn the disk. There is a tutorial at this link which covers two methods of adding subtitles to an existing movie.
