    Good morning,

My computer has an issue with loading windows 2000. When I turn it on, Windows tries to load but on the 2nd startup screen I get the blue screen of death. It reads ***STOP; 0x0000007b (0x082079910, 0x000000032. 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
    Inaccessible boot device.

I've tried starting it in safe mode and from the last known good configuration with no luck. I not an expert but I would like to run chkdsk to see if I'm having a hardware issue but I dont know how to access the command prompt from the blue screen.

I went through the microsoft website and I've hit a roadblock becsuse I dont have my recovery disk and I don't think that I can run chkdsk without it.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Good evening to you!

Hm, It's been a while since you posted this, I'd however advice you to try removing one of your memory sticks if you have more than one (try running on either one of them). Also try only using either one of the memory slots, try each stick in each slot.

If the machine starts with just one stick of RAM, and it works in both slots, your other piece of RAM is bad. Buy new (overkill alternative may be running Linux instead and load a module which avoids the faulty pieces of the RAM).

Also try disabling AHCI in BIOS, I've seen that resolve some BSODs.
