Hi, i recently installed a new graphics card to handle graphics on a computer which previously utilized the intergrated graphics built in to the motherboard.

It initially started up fine and worked. the next day once the computer was turned off overnight it comes up with disk boot failure. the hard drive is making a weird sound like it is powering up but then turns off and tries to power up again.

im thinking it might be 3 things.

    1. since installing the new graphics card there might not be enough power to power everything requiring a new psu.

    2. the hard drive has failed. which is weird because it was working fine before. requiring a new hdd.

    3. graphics card hardware conflict. requiring a new graphics card.

can anyone help me with this?

Out of the 3 options you've given its more likely that the HD had died. Very much doubt its a hardware conflict, and you can easily rule out power issues by switching back to the on-board graphics briefly.....

i took out the graphics card and it still had the same problem. i also tried the hard drive on another computer and it still didn't work.
i have valuable information on the hard drive. is there any way to get back the lost information and files.

Did you put the HD into another PC as the main boot device or an secondary drive ? You could always try installing it on a PC as a secondary drive and see if you can access it like that....
