You pretty much answered your own question the only way to legally optain XP is to purhase one or a serial key if you already have a disc the key must be for the version of your disc. I love vista myself so I would never go back to that security crippled XP. However many would like to Microsoft stopped all sales of XP just two weeks ago so you will have to find a copy online such as ebay. If your having difficulties with Vista anyone here will be glad to help I have even upgraded systems to Vista that are 3 to 4 years old without one problem and I have not had any spyware or virus issues since installing it back nearly two years ago. All my games worked and programs but then again I wasn't trying to install moldy oldies from the windows 95-98 era. Good Luck

Yeah i have vista right now but its not activated so i have to do the rearm trick every 30 days and it gets annoying and i just like xp more. But when i used to have it i had the xp professional and i was able to just type in any key and it would just say that its not genuine but i read somewhere online that sp3 has the same security system as vista but im not sure.

so what your saying is you have no legal copies of either software you should look for answers elsewhere. I don't help hackers
