a while ago i bought a computer and after about a year it got a virus so i reinstalled windows xp which wiped my hard drive and lots of things didnt work like my sound and i tried to play games and they didnt work i went on the HP website and downloaded the right driver for my computer for the audio and then the audio worked fine my question is do i have to download all the drivers for my computer.
no not really...although it would be smart to install all the drivers just in case in the future you would need to use some other devices installed on your computer...to see what drivers you dont right click on mycomputer and select properties. in the new window hit the hardware tab. In the new menu hit device manager... Any device that you d0nt have drivers for will appear with either a yellow question mark or an exclamation point.
Thanks for your help the things i dont have drivers for that come up with a yellow exclemation mark are ethernet controllers and video controller (VGA compatable)i have to download my drivers from here http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppor...sId=472276&swLang=13&taskId=135&swEnvOID=1093 would you know which ones i have to download.
for the ethernet get: Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Drivers for Microsoft Windows XP/2000 and Intel PRO/1000 GT Drivers for All Operating Systems as for the graphics driver, do you know what graphics card you have on your pc? If you do then you can pick accordingly... Before downloading anything please see the following link for reference.
