I have had a Liteon 5025 hdd recorder for nearly two years now with no probs. All of a sudden I cannot record to dvd from hdd as machine does not aparently recognise the blank discs I have tried. I have now tried three different makes of dvd disc including a make I have used dozens of times before. Machine will try to read disc and motor inside goes like hell before it opens the tray after about a minute. Any ideas??

    Isn’t that LVW 5025ghc
I think you will find that the DVD drive is going bad and will need replacement
A 5025is much as the 5045 with smaller drive
lliteon made a number of clones. The Ilo 04 series by Wal Mart was one. Any info on the ilo is relevant to the liteon.
A drive that will work on all functions including Fast Forward is getting difficult to find

Thanks for the info. Funny thing is that it will still play dvds including those I have recorded on that machine. I think I am going to bite the bullet and buy a replacement recorder.

    Cheers

It sounds as the unit wull play its own recordinge but has trouble with some disks and those recorded by other units and possibly commercial. A sign the drive may be failing
