OK here are my current specs:

    Processor Intel Core2 Duo CPU T8300 @ 2.40Ghz 2.40Ghz
    Memory(RAM) 3.0 GB
System type 32 bit operating system (Vista)
Video Cards 2 Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT with SLI (175.80 Driver)

I'm trying to run Gears of War. I am currently running it at a resolution of 1024 x 768 with settings on medium. Any idea why my computer is chugging to run this game? What can i do to make it run better without losing a lot of picture quality?

the only thing i can see wrong is the 8600M GT. it's a mid end card, more designed for bluray/HD videos. you'd need something along the 8700M GT in SLI or the 8800M GTS/GTX.

off topic: aD is being trippy today. some posts are being posted earlier.

that is a pretty BA laptop. I was talking to someone in class today and they told me that my computer gets too hot. One of my video cards gets to like 90.c and the other get to like 80.c Im going to buy and fan to put under it and see if that helps. when your graphic cards get too hot they will slow down to avoid burning up.

I dont think there is anything wrong with the video card.
I ran GOW perfectly on DX9 with full settings with a Ati hd 2600 so your 2 Graphic Cards should pull it.
\Try cooling it more and check your video drivers.
PLus try turning off DX10 in video settings

my nvidia drives are for 175.80 for both cards and i switched off my dx10. should i turn it completely off or keep it on the one where its both options dx10 and antialiasing?

UPDATE: ok so i turned it off completely and that seems to make it run better but its still lagging some. it's almost as if my frame rate or refresh is no good. any help with this issue would also be appreciated. thank you.
