I have been using an Iomaga Super DVD Writer 16X16 Duel-Format USB 2.0 External Drive. It has been working fine for the past three years. Yesterday I bought a hundred spindle of Verbatim DVD-R's. Well, they don't work at all. Does anyone know why? Will DVD+R's work?

Sorry for such a basic question.

How long since you last tried to update the firmware for your burner?

Not only updating the firmware as 7thsinger suggests (actually it would real smart to), try using Imgburn, free from
www.imgburn.com
IMHO, best burning engine out there, and seems to work with most media.

If it wasnt for bad luck, Id have no luck!

It is reported that some of the new verbs are made in China, so quality may be spotty, although this is not the reputation of verbs (their rep was always consistent quality)

That Imgburn program looks really slick. It didn't work with these Verbatim disks though. I get a "Connot write medium - Incompatible Format" error.

They were made in Taiwan.

I guess I need to try some DVD+R and see if they work.

'Verbatim Taiyo Yuden', vanilla Verbatim, vanilla Taiyo Yuden & RICOHJPNR03 are the ONLY media allowed near my Burners/standalone players

I've been all over the Iomega web pages. I can't find any updates.

Apologize for this. Thought I found something, but I didn't. Mod can delete this message.
