Latest TheBox PVR firmware update problem

    I have flashed the latest version v3.100 to my TheBox PVR but I am now unable to view sky sports & movie channels etc. Any ideas what the problem might be and what I can do to rectify it please?

    You need to turn autoupdate back on. Have a look at the guides in Eamos at the bottom of my post.

    Have done that but no joy. I am getting the information on the channel though when I press the i button.
    Any ideas please?

    I assume that I have installed the correct version?

    Its Beta so up to you to try it, earlier October version will also work. Sometimes takes a minute or two for channels to clear. As said I pointed you to the guides as I am not the PVR guy, jbvideo is, maybe give him a shout if he is available he will answer.

    Forgot to say also that when I turn the box off and on again I have to rescan every time.

    I remember that about the Beta alright but I think you can cancel or select in menu and the channels are maintained. Cant remember the exact procedure off hand, but I have sent jbvideo a link to your post and when he gets a chance I am sure he will pop over.

    Hi
    I think if you are haveing trouble with the Beta F/W I would go back to the 4.506 Oct version which was fine for me but before doing that just try the procedure below first.

    Before doing a scan Goto Menu / Installation and make sure the (Cable Network Option) top item is set to your local provider if not correct it by using the right / Left arrow keys on your remote, then move down to Autoscan and wait till it has finished.
    If channels not clearing goto Menu / System Setup / Press ok when the Parental Control line in yellow is highlighted then press i then 2007, this should take you the the CAS SYSTEM. (May need to do this a couple of times quite slowly with your remote to get into CAS SYSTEM) When you are there and Nagravision 1,11 is highlighted in Yellow Press ok, On the Provider ID Line select your provider by using the left/right arrow buttons on remote then press the LAST (load default)button on your remote, then the OK (Store) wait for it to save then press exit, exit. (Your provider needs to be the same as the one you selected in Cable Network Option above.
    Finally make sure Autoupdate is On (This is the EMU) (Bottom Item in Cas System.) Got to a scrambled channel and wait.

    i have the same problem 2007 dont work. on the perental control have they changed the number or somthing cannot get in to the cas menu any ideas?

    have down graded for the time beeing till any one can figur the problem out.

    ok i have officaly got brain freze ignor my last to stupid posts lol figured it out have to hit ok on parent controls lol then i 2007

    must have swallowd the dum pill.

    its not auto updated locked channels any ideas?

    rigth what you was missing is on the new version of the software after doing the 2007 bit and auto update etc you then have to go to system setup and turn on key code.

    then the update will work and all locked channels will be decrypted.

    Keycode on is Auto Update On. Same thing.
    You obviously didn't read the earlier post properly or you would have been sorted out sooner.

    I have turned auto update and keycode on and all the channels work. Unfortunately when I turn the box off then back on I still have to rescan again.

    Any ideas?

    I think you still have v3 installed, I have read about some people having that problem and others problems with the Beta version 3,and no cures known by me for that. Only alternative is to install v4.506 Oct which is more stable. You will find this better. These are the only two decent versions so its up to you which you prefer.
    In your later post there is no Virgin selection, only NTL,C&W,Telewest,Churus,Omne. You do need to know exactly which of those is the provider in your area before scanning. This re-scan problem won't be there with v4.506

    Bit of an update to my problem. When I turn my box on it goes to the page where you have to choose your language. This is the point where I usually have to go through the procedure of choosing english then installation i.e. rescan. What I have found out is if I press (english) ok, then press exit I then have all of the channels working and do not have to rescan. Is there a way to stop the language page appearing each time I turn the box on?

    With regards to scanning and provider id i meant I am in a v..gin area so assume the provider id should be ntl? I scan for channels with tw. My provider currently is showing ntl but all the channels work as stated above.
