Hi there I just purchased a new toshiba laptop. Im wondering which of the following programs i can delete? And also which ones i should remove from startup? To remove Completely: Configfree Catalyst install manager Catalyst control center Startup: Toshiba remote control manager Toshiba button support jswtrayutil synaptics pointing device driver realconnect agent
I believe "Configfree" is the Toshiba application that manages the wireless card in the computer, you possibly could remove it but keep a re-installer handy if you do. See here for more information. Catalyst is AMD (aka ATI)'s controller for the graphics card. I maybe wrong but I believe if you uninstall that you'll be running on integrated graphics instead of the card. The "pointing device driver" is the touchpad mouse. Keep that because without it the touchpad (as far as I know) won't work. Sorry I am not sure what the other stuff is and couldn't find much via Google. Peace
Below is a free safe utility which can be used to tell you what all the processes are inside the task manager, once you know what's what you can delete it thru add/remove or use the 2nd link to do a manual search of what the procesess are at a guess "realagent" is to do with the real player media player,if you do a websearch or look thru the software section in AD there should be a lite version that you can replace it with http://www.processlibrary.com/quicklink/ http://www.processlibrary.com/ Edit: it's not always necessary to remove programs you can just start up the program & set it not to run at startup or remove the start up entry with ccleaner (clik tools button in left column when ccleaner is up then clik "startup" button) PS: Any future help will incur a small fee
Adverts of course, ddp is just wanting protection money,he's a sicilian i would'nt expect any less,he's also got his sticky fingers in a few pizza houses too Edit: well i figured since i'm here i might as well start some rumours *runs*
