I haven't ordered media in awhile but did so last week.
I ordered TYDVD-R.
The original image in the ad read TY. The text of the ad read TY.
Only when you clicked on that image did a page open with the name Linkyo.
So, apparently, in my absence this vendor has worked out a private label deal with TY. That's fine but i have issues with what i believe is deceptive advertising. So, I plan to call them up later today to voice my disaproval and demand a full refund.
Having said all that......
I haven't been able to find a discussion on this forum about this product. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks
They are probably fakes, and mis-advertised. If they are dirt cheap I would be tempted going by the first assessment to give a spindle a go and see how they work out.. but beware.. as with all rebrands it's pot luck and you could easily be getting total crap. http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia/linkyo...mag-m01-16/3836
Run a couple through this http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/ and post the results.. if you ordered ty's and that returns anything else then you have your ammunition for a fraud case.

Forum Rules -http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/2487 'Verbatim Taiyo Yuden', vanilla Verbatim, vanilla Taiyo Yuden & RICOHJPNR03 are the ONLY media allowed near my Burners/standalone players
Run from those disks,
Go to Supermediastore.com for online sales with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden, watch the weekly ads in your area for the brick and mortar vendors. I haven't looked at the ads this week but usually Verbatim or Sony or Office Depot's house brand can be found for a reasonable price.
Hi Blivet, maybe five years ago before they chucked b and c grades in to thier spindles!Thats the problem these days with blanks....no real consistancy..ty bieng the best tho...thats what ive found anyway

Well Ritek is good (Verbatim is better) & CMC is usable but not as good in my DVDInfopro tests as Ritek, Verbatim or Tayio Yuden. I've got some CMC Imation DVD's over a year old that still test ok. Some are data discs & some are video discs. I played 2 of those older CMC video discs in my DVD player & they were fine with no problems. I'm not saying it's great media though as there is better stuff out there. One was an 8x disc burned at 8x in my computer & the other was an 8x disc burned at 1x in the DVD recorder thats hooked up to the cable DVR. Oh & the discs were played in the player, not the recorder as I don't often play discs in the recorder since it's usually (but not running 24x7) recording older movies (TCM, the Plex channels, Fox Movie Channel & the Encore channels) plus a few TV shows from the DVR.
