I'm not with NTHell or Ch@rus,i'm trying to pick up the NTHell MMDS that's in my area.I bought an MMDS Aerial with downconverter and power supply from the UK.They told me that it would pick NTHell in Ireland.I'm based near Gort,Galway.Do you know of anyone that has tried to do this before ???.They are lots of NTHell aerial's in the house's around me and I know the general direction that the signal is comming from,it is a matter of positioning the aerial until signal strength on the box goes green during the scan ????

Yes I have it all set up, when you say powerinsertor i take that you mean the 18v power supply that goes to downconverter ???

Yes havent used one from satandcable, I see it has dual voltage powerinsertor, but unsure of the downconvertor. Does the antennae have polarity markings on it?

If you know you neighbours quite well you could ask them can you try the EV in their house off their MMDS set up and this will tell you if the box works. Then we can look at the anennae set up

ScOuser,Thanks for help.I will try out the box at a mates house over the weekend. When you talk about the downconveter antennae having polarity markings on it,want do mean by this ???.I think there is a symbol on it,does this have to be facing a certain way ??.Also there is only power/cable connection on the downcovter.
Thanks,
Johno

ScOuser,I have ajusted MMDS aerial to line of sight with transmitter but at end of scan i'm still getting '' No transponder to scan '' and the % bar for quality is reading between 8-30% when scan is finished. When the scan is running the level bar for the most of the time is at approx 15-20% and the quality bar jumps for 10% to 90% and back to 10%,should both bars be in the green when scanning ie 80-90% ??? Also I'm worried that the 18 Vdc power supply may not be working correctly ?? How do I check it ?? I tried measuring it with a volt meter by inseting one probe into the head and the other probe to the threaded area but got back reading something like 0.15 vdc.
Any help would be great !!!

Hi,

On the polarity, yes the downcovered needs to be alligned the correct way. have a look at the ones on your neighbours around you. They should have a little rectangle piece on the top of the downconverter and it will be horizontal or vertical, your downconverter will have to be the same.

And if he didn't get a mesh dish the bars of the aerial have to be aligned too in the right direction.
