Problem with Hard Drive

    I opened up an external hard drive I owned put it in my ps3. Then I put the ps3 one in the case from the external hard drive. When I plug it into my computer it recognized it and then installed it, but it was installed as a disk drive. Does anyone know how i can fix it so that it will be usable as an external?

    'Disk Drive' is what you'll see if you plug in an external hard drive. What's the problem with that?

    I'm sorry I used the wrong word. It says that it is a cd drive not a hard disk drive. It says that there is not a disk in it.
