gears of war smoother gameplay

    yo i just gotta new amd board with a 1.91 ghz processor a geforce 8400 gs and 2 gigs of ram....now this game runs pretty good as far as speed but why is it so choppy i need to know if there is a way to make smoother gameplay without sacrificing quality...now i have riva tuner but i was told npure is better because its all software overclocking though i cant find it anywhere so....any feedback would be great

    already see the problems; the processor and graphics card. the 8400GS is not a gaming card. also, the processor is on the sluggish side.

    if you want a new card, get a 9600GT or an ATi HD3870; you will also need a better power supply like the corsair 450VX. do NOT get a cheap power supply, spend the money on a quality unit.

    as for the processor, i dunno what socket type you have. download cpu-z and run it. it will tell you what socket your board is.

    thats the thing i just forked out like 400 hundred for the whole system its runs ok but i bet that gt is like 280$ i cant afford it amn so there are no alternatives??

    the XFX 9600GT runs for $125 on newegg. and most HD3870's run around $150 now.

    there are no other alternatives. the 8400GS is a mainstream card. mostly used for dual displays. if you just bought it, return the 8400GS.

    ok ill look into that now my processor i know i need at least a dual core right

    download and run cpu-z. it'll tell you what processor is in it currently, and what socket type it is.

    if this maching was going to be gaming, you'd been better off with an intel build. amd's aren't bad, but intel's can overclock like crazy, even on the cheapest processor.

    ok i run it great on 2gb ram, 3.2 ghz intel and 8600 gt 512mb and i paid 70 POUND thats round 140 dollers but it has been reduced to 50 pund/ 100 dollers and for my 3.2 ghz processor i paid around 60 i think i get all my goodies from here

    well i just gotta a geforce 9600 gt and a amd 64 4000+ clocked at 2.60 but it still runs with lag a little bit like its loading im pissed it shouldnt lag at all but it is a lot smoother does power really matter its brand new and so is my hdd and the hdd is the newer type its not ide
    its somthing else i forget but....i run bioshock flawlessly...so thanx for the feedback guys
