I have the Windows Vista operating system on my new DELL laptop. I've always used Nero to burn MP3 music discs on my old desktop (Windows XP system). I've been looking for over an hour now to download Nero to my laptop so I can burn an MP3 but all the ones I try need me to enter in a serial number which I don't have and it not supplied.

    Help???

Or any other program that is free and is good for making MP3's?

    Thanks!!!

Nero isn't free, if you download from their site and haven't used their software on your machine before the trial should work for "x" amount of days.

As for other software for your MP3's...are the files already on your HDD and you are wanting to burn them to a disc or are you wanting to rip the music from one of your CD's?

If I read this correctly you want to put hundreds of mp3s on a CD to play in a device capable of reading those discs. If wanting an mp3 CD, why cant you just put the blank cd in your burning drive, and burn the mp3s as data?

You might be right bozwell55 but explaining how and where to pirate goes against some of the most basic rules of this website which you obviously didnt read.

Oooo... caps lock Tuesday.. that's a new one.

Lots of free burning applications are available, why not use a search engine like I have to get some free burning software suggestions?

    http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=freeware+burning+programs&btnG=Google+Search&meta=

sorry.. but nero is past it, last years tool.. pointless and overpriced (and since version 7 buggy as hell too).... only n00bs use payware bloatware suites when better quality free applications are available.

I think they have scared them off... unless they discovered torrents or something..

Why warez when there are all those lovely freeware apps I pointed to? Puzzles me no end. I really can't see the point of stealing a commercial product when the free alternatives generally are updated more frequently and very often have features you need rather than loads of bloat you don't. Nero is very poor these days.. they even tried to make a linux version.. hahaha.. I tested a warez version.. sorry.. I can burn from the command line better than that hunk of pricey junk. Sorry nero fans.. I wouldn't use it if it was freeware.. it's lost the plot.
