need help

i've got a starview 3 box super everyone tells me dead easy just plug in
and it works NO!!! i must be thickest person on planet been reading the forum people saying download software/firmware been on internet but have'nt a clue which software to download i have downloaded something but it never went to the box which i had connected to my pc someone mention to make sure i indicated which port to send it to!how do i do this. really am in right pickle can someone help PLEASE I have a genuine
sratview box 25/7 but when i scan for channels just says failed i know there's a lot of answers about this but i just cant understand them thick you see. cheers
