Hi, this is my first message .Could someone tell me if it is possible to connect my analogue video recorder to my digital JVC.video camera and convert the analogue to digital so I can burn the tapes to my PC then to Dvd. Would the quality be OK? Would I be able to do this on the fly or would I have to copy the vcr tapes to the digital tapes .
    Thanks in advance.

I can answer one of your questions. I have just started doing this also. If your camcorder has pass through capability then you do not need to record to the DV tape. I have a Cannon ZR which has pass thru capability so I do not have to record to the tape first. You could also just get a connection to your graphics card so you don't have to use your camcorder. The one I have came with my computer and has inputs for svideo and analog connection. That is if you have a good graphics card.
