Here is the deal. my sister has a gateway desk top (gt5404) and It came with Vista. My sister is tech illiterate and her system is full of bloatware and junk. I really don't want to go in and clean it so I want to create another partition and put xp on it since its allot lighter than vista. I tried to dual boot before and it was a mess. How do i go about getting both vista and xp installed on this thing and if anyone can point me to a place where i can get xp drivers for my gt5404 it would be greatly appreciated.

Vista includes most the drivers you will need.

not vista drivers. there's plenty of those, I need XP drivers and with microsoft forcing everyone to move on to vista, xp drivers are becoming more and more rare.

well you could try looking on gateway's website and try and get the drivers from there...if not then you might be better off looking for torrents...A couple of weeks ago i stumbled upon a 5000+ universal XP drivers pack...just a suggestion...or...you can go here^^: http://support.gateway.com/support/...1&model=11033&os=10406&type=&mfg=&bios=&ext=1

yeah thats what i need. thanks for the suggestion. bandir008. I would've never thought to use torrents. For my hp laptop I found that it could use the same xp drivers from other models.
