How can I install a hdd into a tivo that doesn't have a hdd?

    I bought a series 1 Philips HDR212 tivo that didn't come with a hard drive. I thought I could just pop one in but seems like I need to hook up the drive to my computer and load the software from there. Only problem is every guide I find only talks about copying a drive so you can upgrade the size of the drive. So does anyone know where I can get the software for the drive and a guide to load it?
