i have an ibook g4. the computer was great and lasted a long time, until the hd crashed. no problem, just bought a new one and installed it. worked perfectly for about a year and then it began to freeze after only being in use for 5 mins. sometimes it would just show a blue screen, and other times it would go grey and display the ? mark symbol. so i had the hd tested, and it was ok. tried to reinstall the osx, but nothing seems to work. so i have concluded it is the motherboard. right? wrong? can it be fixed? thanks in advance.

It sounds like logic board failure.

    The good.

    It can be fixed..

    The bad.

The cost may warrent a purchase of a newer mac laptop.

Most logic board replacements run 700.00 to the lowest being 400.00 for a ibook g3.
