I have to fix a MSXML3.DLL error. But in order to do that I first have to fix my 0x80004005 error. Microsoft Help site suggests reinstall my Windows XP CD.

My question - if I do that will I lose all my programs currently on my computer? iTunes? Word.docs, etc, etc

    Please advise...

Note - I have three user accounts on my computer and these #$#%^#$ errors are ONLY happening to 2 of the 3 accounts. And all three accounts are set as admin.

Check out the instructions if you have an OEM windows cd. If your cd does not boot at startup then you need to change your boot order in the bios settings to boot from cd first.

If you have a laptop you will most likely find that there will be a recovery disk made for you. You should be able to repair using this but read the screen prompt carefully so you don't restore to factory condition.

Note: It's always wise to backup your personal documents, pictures, mail, videos etc to a cd or dvd prior.
