double songs on ipod

how do i delete duplicate songs on my ipod without going through all 100 million songs one by one. is there a way?

 

you can do it in iTunes by going to view>show duplicates, than delete the doubles.

 

thanks i guess that was a little easier. now, how do you know what gen of ipod you have

 

iTunes should tell you when you connect the iPod, if it doesnt just describe it and I can tell you.
