Hi, i have an amilo pro laptop. On it is a VIA Chrop 9 HC IGP Graphics card/chip.When i try to adjust visual effects to extra i get the message "Desktop effects could not be enabled"

Could someone please give me some info on what i have to do in order to get this working. I have checked that my card/chip is compatible by running a script but i don't now where to go from here.

    Thanks
(My OS is linux ubuntu 8.04)
