So I posted before with a problem with lass.exe and the computer kept restarting. I gave up trying to fix the problem and decided to reformat. When I first tried to reformat it was having troubles copying files from the windows installation cd. So I tried different drives, and different cds and it wouldn't work. So I installed the hard drive in another computer and formated and installed windows. Moved the drive back to the original computer and I couldn't get anything to work. EXE files all said they were corrupt, but if I tried them on any other computer they worked fine. Internet explorere kept freezing. I took out the hard drive and installed it in the other computer again and updated to SP3 from cd. (couldn't do this in the other computer). Moved it back to orginal computer. Seemed to run better. But still had problems installing files. I tried connecting to Windows Update, and it downloads updates fine, but fails on every install. EXE's still say file is corrupt. IE randomly has errors and closes. Sometimes on these errors the computer restarts. I am going freakin nuts here and would appreciate any help.
unless the computers are identical in motherboards then windows usually do a bsod if c:\drive is moved ftom 1 pc to another. are they identical? start looking at the motherboard as the possible cause of problems. look at the silver flat topped can shaped objects that are capacitors that they are not domed or leaking brown stuff.
