I just got assassins creed and installed it all excited to play until I clicked on the icon. The screen went blank and flashed white and I could hear sound. I downloaded the patch and no dice. I then searched forums and most everybody said to have pixel shader 3.0. Well I did the AC sys requirements test and it said I had 4. Everything is a green check mark. Here is a pic:

    It's your graphics card bud.

Unfortuntely the site has advised you wrong and the X1250 only supports shader model 2 (vertex and pixel I believe) Its found integrated on many boards, but definately not a gamers choice.

Pop a newer card in there and you will be good to go and try to rely on demos rather than sites to see if a game will work, much closer to being accurate.

    Hope this helps.

I heard that for a game (I can't for the life of me remember the name) that they had a patch for the pixel shader. The game used 3 but the patch made it so you could use it on shader 2. Is that possible for Assassins Creed? or will it be?

    Edit:
    Ok I remember..It's bioshock
