Right i have just got my eurovox pvr5000 and cannot get it to work. i have had to use a USB adapter as i have not got a rs32 (or whatever it is called port) i have plugged it in to my computer and the box has come up ---- then 0000 and everything has seemed fine. However i then click on the UFL eurovox programme to flash the box and a BIG RED X comes up and says no available com port. I have now also gone into device manager and under NETWORK ADAPTER my MICROSOFT 6TO4 ADAPTER #2 is not working properly and has a yellow triangle with a black ! and i cannot fix this. Does anyone know how to fix both for me? Thanks.
Did you get a driver with the adaptor and did you install it? you can get drivers and instructions how to config your ports here. http://www.gilsson.com/usb_drivers_download.htm
Thanks for the reply, yeah i installed the driver off the disk. Also that link you give does not give driver for vista.
Can you get to a PC with a 9 pin serial socket so that you can just use null modem cable without the adaptor.
I am on vista i cannot get to a 9 pin computer and have changed the port to port 2 (as 1 was in use) and the same thing happended. Has anyone got anymore ideas?
Your Network adaptor wont stop the ports coms working, recheck device manager click on the + besides Ports (COM & LPT) and make sure its set to between 1 and 4. This really isnt a DVB or PVR issue for the network adaptor but heres the answer, 1). Make sure you have all the updates installed for vista, such as, Important and Recommend updates. 2). [Right Click] my computer icon, and select (properties). 3). Select (Device Manager). 4). [Right Click] on the 6To4 icon, and select (Update Driver Software). 5). Click [Browse my computer for software drivers]. 6). Click [Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer]. You should see the Microsoft 6To4 adapter listed? If not you must uncheck the [] box show compatible hardware. 7). Then scroll down the list of Manufacture until you find (Microsoft), NOT Microsoft Corporation! 8). Click on (Microsoft) as the Manufacture and scroll down about two clicks, you should see 6To4 adapter. 9). [Left Click] on Microsoft 6To4 adapter and (Click Next), it should load the drivers as normally.
