Well it's been about a week and a half since it started! My computer just shuts down randomly... sometimes just as soon as i had just started it up.

At first i thought it might've been a virus, but as many times as i done a scan it still comes out to be the same result. I'm using Mcafee as my antivirus and i have Microsoft XP.

I still think it might be a virus. I'm planning to also try running two antiviruses at once to double check... but i was hoping if anyone else might have an idea what is wrong?

Please anyone help me! Many thanks in advance!!!
And can you guys keep it simple, somewhat a newbie here! Thanks again!

Not too up on this end of things but I do know this is a bad idea. Too much conflicting to be functional.

it sounds like a Bad Power Supply, however it could be a capacitor on the Mainboard. if you open your computer up look at the Mainboard you sound like a person that now what a capacitor is look at all the capacitors

if even one of them looks like this:

if non of them do look for signs of MicroChip Damage such as scarring on chips.

if those two solutions turn up nothing then its you power supply.
