   hi can cool edit pro convert dvd audio files to mp3? or do i need to concede defeat that it & nero dont do it & i need a dvd audio ripper program?

   You need a dvd audio ripping program google them.. plenty of free ones.
   
   or if you have mplayer/mencoder installed then...
   
   mplayer -vo null -ao pcm -aofile audio.wav dvd://01
