em using WinRAR 3.80 trial version and faced following problem.


Wheneva I try to extract cab file, I get: The archive is either in unknown format or damaged"
i get dis error only on dis archive how can i repair dis archive?

 

If it's damaged, then you are SOL. You can't repair it. Whatever you were trying to download was corrupted.

 

Actullay I downloaded a game resident evil 4 for my pc.
and its containing 33 files 100 mb each (last one a bit smaller)
if i view the first file i get:
Resident_Evil4_HATRED_PC[1].part01.rar - RAR volume (number 1), unpacked size 3,328,491,174 bytes
now i extracted that 33 files and got a 2,147,174 kb iso file.
which i then extracted once again and i got data1 (cab file)
data 2 (cab file) and engine 32 (cab file) and direct x 9.0 c
(cab file) owite.
now da problem em facing is with data1 (cab file) and data2 (cab file)
however, when i tried to play, i only got the first menu (which gave me controls, setup, and play options). if i tried to hit play, it would give me this: "Wrong Disc Inserted. Please insert the original 're4 disk' CD/DVD." retry
so can u tell me wot to do???????

 

When you extract the rar files, you get an iso.
This is an image of the file, and should not be extracted. Instead you need to burn it to a DVD using a program like ImgBurn, or mount it to a virtual drive on your pc using a program like PowerISO.
If you are not sure how to mount an image, the best thing to do is burn it to a disc.
Once you've burnt or mounted it, it should auto-play, and install as normal.

 

Yeah, buy the game.

 

And don't ask us to help you pirate the game!!

owite so i got image file nd i got installation dun thnks to u but
still em getting da same error after mounting with daemon

I think that is alright

Still have power and so far not bad yet but it's still south and east of us.

 

After more searching I saw people saying to get Alcohol 120% which I now have and made a MDF/MSF file. So I burnt that to a DVD and tried loading the DVD on my computer which brought up the same error? I even tried it with imgburn and on my PS2 too still it says "please insert PS/PS2 game" so it wont play. Going crazy!! lol

 

well i've used 'owite' instead of ok

Why did you try it on your ps2 if it's a pc game
It'll never work

PS - Try mounting the ISO using PowerISO, I never once had a problem with mounting/installing any game using this. (Used it for a lot of pc games)

 

i've already used power iso and em still getting a same error.
basically if this were a copyright issue i would think it would
bring up a diffrent error but its as if its not seeing the game on
my pc? After more searching i saw people say You can just install it from the exe file you downloaded.
Then after installed you take the the original EXE in the game folder
and move it to another folder, something you name original EXE's or something. Then place the crack exe file in the folder in it's place.
If it originally created a desktop icon just delete it.
Then make a shortcut from the crack and copy and paste that to the
desktop instead.
now how can i get crack.exe file to run re4.
